What are you working on right now?

My work-in-progress, which I started last year, is a body of work that will have large, medium and small paintings. They pursue the idea of seeking balance in life, personal happiness, respect for our fellow humans and our environment. In this work, I look to the places and situations that bring me comfort, and provide a sense of calm and optimism.

The work was triggered by life in our nation during the last few years, which has been full of uncertainty, inequities, racism and complete disrespect of our constitution and environment, our lack of leadership domestically and on the global arena.

What would you like to say about Manufacturers Village Artist Community?

It is great to be part of a diverse community of artists and creatives. I have made friends and discovered some pretty awesome artists and their work in the process, and enjoy the sense of community.

What's next for you?

I am currently part of the virtual group show, "Ensemble: Together Again" by The Painting Center Gallery, viewable on their website and on Artsy.

I have been selected for the international resident artist program at Chateau d'Orqueveaux, France. With this selection I have also been awarded the Denis Diderot AIR grant. Due to Covid19, my residency will be in August 2021.
