What are you working on right now?

I'm currently working on a series of photopolymer intaglio prints using nature as metaphor. Each image in the series reflects an idea or emotion I felt while working with the subject. Though mainly monochromatic, subtle color is used in each print to bring attention to areas of the image that convey its meaning. These images were recently shown at the Art in the Atrium exhibit, "Dream With Your Eyes Open" located in Morristown, NJ.

There is an exhibit I've curated currently residing at 14 Maple Gallery at Morris Arts in the Geraldine R. Dodge foundation building in Morristown. Unfortunately the exhibit went up when everything started shutting down in March due to Covid 19. The exhibit, "Vanishing Worlds", has not been open to the public yet but has been extended through February 2021 so hopefully will be seen. The artwork in this exhibit give witnesses to those places or moments that have been lost or will be lost in future times. The artist featured are: Susan Ahlstrom, Janet Boltax, Kate Dodd, Robert F Lach, Diane Savona, Onnie Strother, Bill Westheimer, Lisa G.Westheimer, Philemona Williamson

The online exhibit and catalog may be viewed at https://www.morrisarts.org/programs/art-galleries/14-maple/.

What would you like to say about Manufacturers Village Artist Community?

I am excited to be a part of this artist community. It's invigorating to be around so many talented people. This is a group that are passionate about what they do and it's a joy to see the works they create.

What's next for you?

I don't have any solid plans right now except to keep working. It's been difficult to plan for future projects with the pandemic going on but it's sure to include online exhibits and virtual gatherings. I've spent the last few months learning how to teach classes online and making instructional videos. Visual artists are resiliant, the way we share art and ideas will continue to evolve.
